2nd game... 2nd loss

yep, Owen's soccer team, team France, lost yet again.... But they did improve a lot since last game.. They are getting better... today's score was 6-4.. one of which Owen scored... GO OWEN!!! His next game will be in the Columbus Day Tournament... I hope that goes well.. I think most of his stronger teammates are playing in that. The tournament is by choice.

15 month check up

Callie turned 15 mths on the 15th but we had to reschedule her check up due to sickness... She went yesterday! She received 2 shots (MMR & Prevnar). She cried hard and I felt helpless.
She now officially weighs 20lbs 4oz.(that puts her in the 15%) She is 31" tall(65%) I talked to her Pediatrician about her waking 3 times a night for a bottle so he checked her ears and her mouth and said its due to her teething. Callie currently has only 6 teeth. She cuts teeth worse than either of the boys ever did.. His advice was to give her more solids before bed. Easier said than done, I told him... He said she is a healthy, vibrant girl. I think I am gonna ween her off of her bottle to a cup in hopes that will also deter her from those feedings. .The nurse asked their required age questions.. this months were hard for us... "does she point to her body parts when asked?" uuhh NO, we really don't do that. (I know I am a bad mommy!!) "Does she know that she is a girl?" Ok. .what kind of question is that!! she is 15 mths old not 2.. My reply to that was well she knows she is something cuz she sure likes to dig at it when I change her!! I was very dumbfounded at these milestone questions for this well visit!! I guess I need to start working on the body parts with her. Now next month she has to get the flu shot.. as do the boys..Three shots at once!! I don't think they are gonna be happy with me when we are done.

First soccer game

On Saturday Owen had his very first soccer game.. they lost 6-1! However this was their very first game... EVER!! Owen has been playing for 2 yrs now but never had a game..it was just practices once a week(that was the U-6 league). Now he is on the U-8 and they have practices 2x a week from 5:30-7:00 and Saturday morning games.. it's a big commitment for everyone is our house.Soccer nights mean rushing, that's all it is to it.. Hurry do your homework, hurry up do your chores, hurry up and cook dinner, hurry up and eat, hurry up and get your soccer gear on, turn off that t.v., hurry up and pack the diaper bag, then if we are lucky Jason will get home just in time to shower and walk out the door with us.. it's very chaotic and often very stressful! Owen loves the game so I don't see it ending anytime soon!! He is very good but needs to work on a few key things.. like passing the ball !!! He is a big ball hog! He played goalie for a short time on Saturday.. he blocked a lot of the shots but they opposing team was still able to score. It will be neat to watch how much his team progresses through the season. Thankfully the season ends in a month!!

Denver Fair.... family day

Owen got sick riding this one.. i made the carnie stop it early. Carter was rattling me a row but I couldn't hear a word of it! Yep!! that really is my boys up there.. way up there!! LOOK OUT!! Owen could barely drive these things... My boys are the second seat in.. they loved this dragon roller coaster

Last Saturday at the Denver fair they had family day from 1-5...
For 16$ per person you could purchase a bracelet and ride as many rides as many times as you wanted.... Well we looked at the rides and instead of spending 32$ we decided to just buy a book of 20 tickets.. HA!! the 1st ride the boys choose was 4 tickets each.. uuhh that would have been almost half.. Luckily they were nice enough at the fair office to refund our money(since we didn't use any of the tickets) and then we bought each of the boys a bracelet. They had a blast! This was the first time that we had gone to a fair as a family.. Yea Jason and I would go but leave the kiddos with someone that way we could have a date night.
We were there for the whole 4 hrs. and had a great time. It was such a blessing to enjoy that wonderful time together doing something fun with everyone. Callie was a good lil girl even thou she didn't get to ride any of the rides. She sat in her stroller the whole time.. Amazing!! We came a bigger family.. they each won a goldfish.. nice!

Picture day

In this picture of Owen you can see my new screen door.. Thanks Peggy!!

The boys already have had picture day at school.. Can you believe it? They sock everything to ya in those 1st 2 wks.... Pictures, fundraisers, book orders, paperwork, you name it!!
anyway.. i cut the boys hair the night before so that they would have nice, neat 'do's for the pictures... here is what they wore.. I hope they both smiled nicely.... a new company took them this year..i wonder what the quality will be?

allergic reaction??

Last night at the supper table Owen asks "Mom, what am I allergic to?" I replied nothing that I know of.. His response was "Sometimes I am allergic to Carter!" I thought I was gonna pee pants... I tried my hardest not to show how funny that was but I am almost positive that I did not succeed !!

Labor day Cook out

Autumn & Callie playin with dollies
Jason eating corn
Autumn being cool baby
Austin after corn.. love that snaggletooth grin
Jason & Carter as we are heading home

Yesterday was Labor Day.. How did we celebrate?? I made Jason work!! He was doing handy man projects all weekend.. Yay me!! He replaced some duct work.. upgraded really. We had only 3" tubing and he upped it to 6" insulated.. I have already noticed a difference with the air. I wonder how big a difference it will make this winter with the heat? He also added some frame work to our front door so we can add a screen do on it. Peggy Sue picked up a beauty of a screen door for us.. Actually she originally got it for her door but it was too big... score one for me! He go the frame work on and painted, now he needs some screws so he can put the screen door on.. I am so excited about getting a screen door.. It will be nice to open the front door and let a cool Autumn breeze blow through the house. After his work was done we went to mom & dad's had a cookout.. yummy! We bought corn on the cob and it was roasted on the grill, still in the husk. Plus we had some favorites... hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage, mac salad and beans.

Paw-Paw celebrates 86 years !!

On Sunday, My Paw-Paw celebrated his 86th birthday... I can't imagine what all he has seen in those 86 yrs....Segregation, War(WWII Vet,with a purple heart),Depression, Death of loved ones(including his youngest son & wife)... There is so many things his eyes have seen.. Many of which I would love to know more about but he doesn't really talk about the old days.. too many bad memories I suppose. I am sure he has experienced a lot of wonderful things in those years as well. A wife... the birth of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, just to mention a few.

In this picture.. Peggy, Me, Eddy Jr. and Paw-Paw

This is Paw-Paw with his great grand kids.
