Just 7 short years ago I gave birth to my first child..Owen !! No one ever forgets their birth story and every ones story is special to them. Here is my story of Owen's birth....

I had went for ultra-sound on the 25th of May( a Friday afternoon) due to having pre-eclampsia and the fear of a large baby. My sister came along to catch a peek of her new niece or nephew. After the ultra-sound they had me sit out in the waiting room for what seemed like an eternity. At this point I told my sister that I felt something was wrong because they never held me over this long afterwards. The ultrasound tech said that she would have the Dr. look over it as soon as he could and she dismissed me. My sister and I finished out our day with some shopping and then I came back home to discover a message from my o.b.'s office telling me to call them a.s.a.p. Once on the phone with them they told me that I was to go to labor and delivery to get a non-stress test done, even though I had one scheduled for Monday (Memorial Day). I left my Jason a note told him where I went and why and that I would hopefully be back before he got home from work... That never happened. Once I finally saw the o.b. on call for the weekend he sat down and had a very long talk with me on how my baby was gonna be deformed. His head was bigger than his chest and he was gonna weigh under 5 pounds.. OMG!! did I just hear this correctly!! And worse case scenario was that he would die.. Oh did I mention how I had high blood pressure before.. .well this news caused it to sky rocket. When I was admitted my BP was over 200( I can't remember the bottom number). Needless to say they scared the crap out of me. They decided the baby would be better off to be born that to stay inside me. I was still 2 weeks away from my due date of June 9th. So they started me on pitocin so get labor going. By this time I was finally able to call Jason and let him know that I wouldn't be leaving the hospital until I had the baby.... It was a very LONG labor. The jump started me around supper time on Friday... let's not forget that I had been in there since 2 or 3 in the afternoon.. The Dr. was afraid that I would start seizing due to my eclampsia so they gave me magnesium sulfate by I.V. to keep that from occurring...Saturday rolls around and still nothing is going on. I had my parents and me brother in from time to time to help pass the time away. I was bed fast since I had to monitored the whole time. Later that evening my water broke. I remember this so clearly. I was sitting there in bed, my dad and brother were in the room eating McDonalds( I was very upset with them over that cuz I was hungry and I wasn't allowed to eat) and all of a sudden a gush of relief happened. It was a neat feeling. That was the moment I knew I was having my baby!! Saturday night turned into a stormy night... thunderstorms.. & I love storms. Around midnight I finally got my epidural. As the anesteseologist was jagging me in my spine.. the lights went out.. my mom and sister were waiting in the hall and Mom was having a fit!! The lights weren't out long before the generator kicked in.... about and hour later I was gettin ready to push!! Yay almost there. There was an specialist team ready for when the baby was born (NICU) in case there was something wrong like the ultrasound suggested. I had a hard time pushing due to the epi.. I didn't know if I was even pushing like I was supposed to be doing. The on call O.B. vacuumed my baby out.She was in a hurry to get him out so the specialist team could examine him. He was out within 15-20 minutes of my first push.. So either I was doing it right or she was the.... Owen was born at 1:56 a.m. ,May 27, 2001 He weighed 6lbs. 7 oz. and was perfectly healthy!! What a blessing! Happy Birthday Owen Jaymes

1 more makes 4...

So my baby cut another tooth over this past holiday weekend! Someone really needs to explain to her that she doesn't have to get sick every time she cuts a tooth. I am just waiting a couple more days to see how many she pops through this time.

Sick again...

Callie had been running a fever for 2 days so I have been giving her tylenol and motrin to help bring it down. Then late lastnight she started sound "horse" .. today she wasn't getting any better. In fact she was acting like it hurt to swallow and didn't eat much. So I decided to take her to the Dr. before they closed for the weekend....
Callie now has croop!! My poor baby girl sounds sooo awful. She can hardly cry. The Dr. put her on a steriod, antibiotic and breathing treatments... AGAIN!! If you remember she was bad sick just 3 wks. ago.. Please pray that the medicines the Dr. prescribed for her to work quickly so she can be her normal lil self again.

my new ride

So I finally broke Jason down...We got a MINI-VAN!! YAY!! i have only been waiting for 7 yrs... yep that's right, 7 yrs!! We had his cousin look for one for us. I was getting a little discouraged.. it took almost 2 months however we got a great van at a great price!! I couldn't be more happy! I love it. I got a 2006 dodge grand-caravan ,sxt.. it's silver.. and just beautiful!!It has dual power slide doors and power rear lift gate & stow and go seats.. so lots and lots of storage . i am so spoiled!!

pests?? critters?? or cute?

I couldn't figure out why I was going through so much bird food. Then Carter says Mom there is a squirrel on the bird food.. and sure enough the little boogers were climbing the Shepperd pole and stealing the food. They would tilt it over to let the food fall on the ground and then eat it from there!! So I deem them as PESTS!!!!

almost 1 year old

The other day I took Callie's pictures for her birthday invites.. She is 11 months in the pics. It's hard for me to imagine that she is gonna be 1 year old in less than a month.. Where did that year go? I still remember going in to Labor & delivery to have her like it was yesterday. She amazes me with everything new that she is learning... like she can climb the stairs (getting down them is another story), she loves to walk while holding on to a finger(although she doesn't need that finger, lazy baby), she says bubba, dadda, wazat?, papp, and she whispers !! That week that she was sick she ended up cutting 3 teeth .. that is crazy 3 teeth in a week. She still isn't sleeping all night long.. someone needs to fill her in on how to do this...lol. She loves being outside to play and will play in her pack-n-play for hours while i am busy doing yard work.... yay me!! She is drinkin out of a sippy cup .. she loves chocolate milk but then again, who doesn't????

my whiner

Yes, I am talking about Carter!! That boy can give any girl a run for her money..lol !! It doesn't seem to matter to him what starts it.. all he knows is that he is gonna whine about whatever , whenever! His main trigger is Owen, of course!! He loves to be Owen's Lil sidekick but heaven's sake if he don't get what he wants.... I have started dealing with this by putting him on his bedroom steps and telling him when he is done crying about it he can come back down. He says "okay Mommy" in the most pitiful way you could image. I can't wait to this is passed

soccer child

Owen has been playing soccer now for 2 seasons on the U6 team.On the U6 team he has learned the basics of the sport.. He has learned a lot this spring season on how to control the ball.. the boy has skills or should I say will have skills if he sticks with it. He loves soccer and it is the perfect sport for him.. lots of constant movement!! In the fall he will be moving to the U8 team. He will then have Saturday games.. He is looking forward to actual game. With the U6 he doesn't really have games but lil scrimmages at practice time.. which is only 1hr. a week, Wednesday nights.

So I guess I am a true soccer mom ;)
